Welcome, and thank you for making an account. Lighthaven is a free, non-profit, educational Wrath of the Lich King (3.3.5a) realm run as a hobby. There is no subscription, no donation button, and no shop — the running costs come out of the operator's pocket, and they always will. Nothing here is sold, and nothing is locked behind anything except playing the game.

The realm is quiet on purpose: most of the population is PlayerBots, and that is a feature rather than an apology. You can level, run dungeons, fill battlegrounds, and clear raids entirely solo, with bots taking the other roles and the content scaling to the group you actually have. If you prefer people, they are here too — the forum and the world are both open — but you will never be stuck waiting for a group to exist.

A large part of what makes this realm what it is lives in the modules: transmogrification, solo queues, individual rates, dungeon scaling, quality-of-life NPCs, and a lot more. All of it is on by default and opt-in: nothing changes for you until you talk to an NPC or type a command, and every setting is saved per character. The full list, with what each one does, example commands, and a link to its source code, is on https://lighthaven.quest/modules — it is worth ten minutes of your time, because most people only discover half of it by accident.

If you are new, your first stop in game should be the Adventure Assistant. It teleports, repairs, sells the useful oddities, and is generally the shortest path between "I wonder if this realm can do X" and "it can". After that, ask a bot: whisper any character standing near you and it will answer in your own language. The AI behind them runs on the realm's own machine — nothing you type is sent to any outside service — and it knows the realm itself, the bots, the Adventure Assistant, the modules, and the usual class questions. For most "how does this work here?" questions, a bot will answer faster than a human would.

The rules are short and readable at https://lighthaven.quest/rules, and they come down to this: treat other players well — bots included — don't cheat or exploit, don't spam or advertise, your account is yours alone, never post someone else's real-life information, and the realm is 13+. Moderation of the public channels is automatic: every account carries a conduct score, sustained insults and hate speech cost points, ordinary swearing and venting do not, mutes lift on their own, and the score regenerates by itself. Every threshold is published on the Privacy page, and the operator reviews the verdict log to clear false positives. The same moderation applies to this forum, in both directions: a mute in game is a mute here, and the other way around.

One thing almost nobody clicks: the changelog at https://lighthaven.quest/changelog. It is updated every week, in your language, and it is where you will learn that a crash was fixed, that a module gained an option, or that something you complained about last month quietly got better. If you only read one page on the site after this one, read that.

On the forum itself: you post under one of your characters, with its race portrait, level, class, and guild — rename the character in game and the forum follows. There are boards for general talk, gameplay, transmogrification, PvP, lore, support, guides, every class, recruitment, and one for each language the site speaks. Pick a topic tag when a board offers one, and use the search before opening a thread; it looks inside messages, not just titles.

That is everything you need to start. Say hello below, tell us what you are playing, and ask anything — the only bad question here is the one nobody asked.
